Book Launch Poster invites people at ROX Shop
in Cebu City.
R.O.X. Shop, Ayala Center, Cebu City, May 25, 2012 ---  These are inspiring set of numbers I tell you.

It all happened when I was informed by Gel Bayona, the General Manager of Travelife Magazine, on having a travel assignment to cover for a book launch and kayaking activity in the southern part of the country, the Queen City of the South – Cebu City, on a short notice.

No problem... my gears and stuffs are always on demand on a short notice anyway. Hehe. I guessed I am used to traveling in short notices anyway. So off I go to spend a weekend to take photos on the book launch and... enjoy kayaking. Yessss!
Khoo Swee Chiow & Buzzy Budlong:
Partners in traversing the Philippines
with their kayaks.

Uneventful flight in Cebu early morning last Friday, thanks to the wonderful Laira Legaspi from Primer Group of Companies, the organizer of the “Across the Philippines in a Kayak” Book Launch and Kayaking Tour during the weekend of May 25-27, 2012. There I have met the two persons who did the expedition, Khoo Swee Chiow (a singaporean national) and Buzzy Budlong (a cebuano), who both shared their experiences of fun adventure, hardships and challenges, in their surmountable adventure: 3,025 kilometers from Mindanao to Ilocos Province in 88 days.

Facing the national and local media during
the book launch to tell their stories and experiences
during their expedition.
Through the efforts spearheaded by Ruby Palma, combined with the fun of Rein Estabal, Laira Legaspi and other wonderful people behind ROX Shop in Ayala Center, Cebu City, from meeting the two kayakers, their support-teams, families, friends, and other media practitioners from Manila and Cebu City, it was a wonderful weekend. Top that with delicious food trips around the city – from the famous and heart-pounding (literally) Cebu’s lechon, beef steaks, grilled ribs, and a huge burger. Wow!
The kayak adventure team and their supporters
headed by the Primer Group of Companies (ROX Cebu).

Finishing off the weekend was the kayak tour experiences for us media practitioners – all new to the world of kayaking – had their hands on the paddle for hours in Li-loan, Cebu. It was indeed an experience to remember. My hand was itching in getting my own kayak and start paddling some place else next time. I know.. it’s crazy. Hehe.

It was such a wonderful weekend! And I got a book signed by Khoo and Buzzy along that memorable weekend in Cebu too.

Until the next adventure... Life is Good!
